Devolution and governance structures in the UK: lessons from evidence

The launch of the Industrial Strategy Council's final report, in partnership with WM-REDI

Event starts at 15.00- 16.30 on 27 May 2021 at Online

It is widely acknowledged that the UK is one of the most centralised countries in Europe. At this event, the outgoing Industrial Strategy Council launched its latest research on this issue – and set out what needs to be done to address it.

At this event, we heard in greater detail about a framework for devolving power from central government to sub-national authorities, derived from analysis of the history of devolution in the UK and how that has shaped the current landscape, as well as substantial primary evidence gathered as part of the project.

The report can be found here.
