07Appendix: Political Geographies

This report uses definitions of city-regions that include local authorities that are within existing combined authorities, proposed combined authorities and LEPs that cover English cities. Some local authorities are part of both a combined authority (or proposed combined authority) and LEP, or within two LEPs. To avoid double counting due to these overlaps, local authorities were allocated to a single city-region – with combined authorities taking precendence, then proposed combined authorities and LEPs, in that order. For this reason, the definitions of the following LEPs include only some of their constituent local authorities: Coast to Capital LEP, Enterprise M3, Greater Cambridge and Greater Peterborough LEP, South East LEP, South East Midlands LEP, York and North Yorkshire LEP.
