Report published on 25 April 2008 by Centre for Cities

The Centre for Cities and the Smith Institute are currently looking at ways in which the private rented sector can better meet housing demand, against an uncertain economic backdrop and continuing affordability pressure. A monograph on the ‘Future of the Private Rented Sector’, sponsored by UNITE Group plc, will be published in June 08.

Ahead of this, Catherine Glossop discusses the implications of the credit crunch for the UK housing market and outlines recommendations for the public and private sector.
