After months of seemingly endless debate, discussion and analysis, the EU referendum is finally upon us.
It’s impossible to downplay the significance of the vote, which will affect the shape and nature of Britain for generations to come.
And yet, no matter what the outcome, there are some big issues in British society that will remain relevant and pressing. One is that, despite a few notable exceptions, northern city economies continue to perform less well than those in the south.
