Centre for Cities, the leading think tank for urban economies, will welcome a new Director of Partnerships to the team on 19 November. Ben Harrison will bring with him vast experience of urban economic policy development and political engagement to this newly created role, where he will lead on the Centre’s stakeholder relations.

Ben joins the Centre from Future of London where he has been Director since 2010, having successfully launched the organisation as an independent, not for profit, policy network focussed on the big regeneration and housing challenges facing the Capital. Prior to this, he was an economic development specialist at PwC.  Ben is no stranger to the Centre, having started his career as a Researcher at Centre for Cities during its start-up phase within the Institute for Public Policy Research.

Ben will head up the Centre’s fundraising and stakeholder engagement activities, working closely with the Chief Executive, Alexandra Jones and the Deputy Chief Executive, Andrew Carter.

Alexandra Jones, Chief Executive of Centre for Cities said:

“I am delighted that Ben is joining us at this exciting time for the Centre.  With just over two years to go to the General Election, Ben’s expertise will be invaluable in helping the Centre to shape urban policy and practice in cities, Westminster and Whitehall for 2013 and beyond.  I really look forward to welcoming him on board.”

Ben Harrison said:

“I am thrilled to be joining Centre for Cities. The Centre has an excellent track record of producing high quality research and analysis on the future of UK cities, and we have a fantastic opportunity to further influence and shape urban policy across the country during the years ahead.”
