The Chancellor George Osborne should focus on what cities need to do to improve their economic growth in the next Budget.
The facts are clear; the UK’s economic recovery is being driven by our cities. Between 2010 and 2012, 96 per cent of net new private sector jobs were created in our urban areas.
On top of that, almost 75 per cent of highly skilled jobs – those that are likely to pay the highest wages – are also located in our cities.
