If there’s one lesson we can take from the political upheavals of recent years, it’s that Britain is increasingly divided – and nowhere is it more evident than in our cities.

This is the central theme of Cities Outlook 2018, the Centre for Cities’ annual health-check on UK urban economies. It examines the growing disparities between different cities in terms of political leanings, living standards, and economic performance – and the implications these have for their economic prospects.
