Alison McGovern, Shadow Minister for Employment set out the need for real full employment in every region.

This event consisted of a speech from Alison McGovern, Shadow Minister for Employment and Labour MP for Wirral South, followed by conversation between Alison McGovern and Andrew Carter, Centre for Cities Chief Executive and reflections and discussion from a panel.

Alison McGovern’s speech focused on the need for full employment everywhere, the regionally unbalanced nature of the labour market, in particular labour shortages, and set out her views on how this should be addressed. She also presented the benefits that full employment would bring more broadly.
