Labour conference roundtable: From Midlands Engine to Northern Powerhouse

Join us at this high level roundtable to discuss Labour's vision for city region transport

Event starts at 08:30 on 26 September 2016 at Liverpool, contact for details

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Transport for London to host a high level roundtable at the Labour Party Conference: From Midlands Engine to Northern Powerhouse: how can transport support a vision for cities in 2020?

In order to encourage a successful and balanced national economy, building the right infrastructure to support better access to jobs and services within city regions will be vital. While the Conservative Government continues its Northern Powerhouse and devolution projects, this roundtable will be a chance to discuss the fundamental priorities for cities around the country, in particular their transport provision, and debate what Labour’s vision for urban transport systems should be.

The event will bring together around 25-30 invited senior level attendees from cities, business and policy with a senior speaker panel representing national and local government, and business. Lilian Greenwood, MP for Nottingham South, Siôn Simon Labour Candidate for West Midlands Metro Mayor, Jenny Stewart, Chief Executive of the Liverpool Chamber and Vernon Everitt, Managing Director, Customers, Communication and Technology at Transport for London will be speaking.

This event is by invitation only, if you would like more information contact rsvp@centreforcities.org.
