The first 100 days – what should be at the top of the West Midlands mayor’s in-tray?

Centre for Cities is holding a panel debate with guest speaker Gisela Stuart MP about the top priorities for the new West Midlands mayor.

Event starts at 5.30pm on 21 July 2016 at Room 101, Library of Birmingham, Centenary Square, Broad Street, Birmingham B1 2ND

Voters in the West Midlands are now only 12 months away from electing their first Metro Mayor. Discussions over whether or not the city region should have a mayor have been overtaken by the need to put in place the arrangements to be ready once the votes have been counted and the mayor announced on Friday 5th May, 2017.

Centre for Cities is organising a policy discussion in each of the city regions that have signed devolution deals. Our aim is to bring voters and key local stakeholders together to discuss: The first 100 days – what should be at the top of the mayor’s in-tray?

We’ll be hearing from:

Gisela Stuart MP Member of Parliament for Birmingham Edgbaston
Paul Faulkner Chief Executive, Greater Birmingham and Solihull Chamber of Commerce
Marc Reeves Editor, Birmingham Mail
Gill Bentley Lecturer in Urban and Regional Economic Development, University of Birmingham

The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and a drinks reception for guests. Register on eventbrite below. You can also show you’ll be attending and share the event with friends on Facebook.
