Next year could mark a watershed for British cities with the promised end to austerity (which our research shows hit cities the hardest), and a test for devolution with some of the first tranche of Metro Mayors facing re-election.
With Westminster still paralysed by Brexit, this event will highlight how cities have done their best to step up and do what they can with limited power and resources. And, with current funding set to run out, it will also be a chance to reflect on the impact of uncertainty on city budgets:
