Cities Outlook 2023 Deep Dive Series: London and South East

Drawing on data from Cities Outlook 2023, this short deep dive session will spotlight economic inactivity and key trends for London and cities in the South East.

Event starts at 14:00 - 14:30 on 6 February 2023 at Online, via Zoom

Designed to complement Cities Outlook 2023, Centre for Cities flagship annual publication highlighting the health of the UK’s cities across a range of indicators, this series of short deep dive sessions spotlighted key trends and indicators in different parts of the country.

In addition to setting out the state of the UK’s cities across a range of indicators, Cities Outlook highlights a different major challenge facing urban Britain each year, with this year’s publication revealing the scale and geography of economic inactivity.

Sessions in this series:

Monday 6 February, 14:00 – 14:30: London and South East (this session)

Monday 13 February, 14:00 – 14:30: North West

Monday 20 February, 14:00 – 14:30: Scotland

Monday 27 February, 14:00 – 14:30: East Midlands

Each deep dive session consisted of a short presentation from our research team on economic inactivity in selected cities as well as the outlook for the region more generally and how it is performing against other indicators. There was also an opportunity for Q&A featuring guidance on how to access our data tool and explore data for your city.

Paul Swinney, Director of Policy and Research, Centre for Cities
