Cities Outlook 2023 Deep Dive Series: East Midlands

Drawing on data from Cities Outlook 2023, this short deep dive session will spotlight key trends and indicators for cities in the East Midlands.

Designed to complement Cities Outlook 2023, Centre for Cities flagship annual publication highlighting the health of the UK’s cities across a range of indicators, this series of short deep dive sessions will spotlight key trends and indicators in different parts of the country.

In addition to setting out the state of the UK’s cities across a range of indicators, Cities Outlook highlights a different major challenge facing urban Britain each year, with this year’s publication revealing the scale and geography of economic inactivity.

Monday 6 February, 14:00 – 14:30: London and South East

Monday 13 February, 14:00 – 14:30: North West

Monday 20 February 14:00 – 14:30: Scotland

Monday 27 February, 14:00 – 14:30: East Midlands (this session)

Each deep dive session will consist of a short presentation from our research team on economic inactivity in selected cities as well as the the outlook for the region more generally and how it is performing against other indicators. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A featuring guidance on how to access our data tool and explore data for your city.
