Cities Outlook 2019 Launch

Listen again to the launch of Cities Outlook 2019 with Cllr Abi Brown, Cllr Nick Forbes and Prof Tony Travers

Event starts at 12.30pm on 28 January 2019 at Millbank Tower, Westminster

On 28 January we launched Cities Outlook 2019, our flagship annual analysis of the 63 biggest urban areas in the UK. The report contains the latest data on a range of economic indicators such as population growth, business growth and employment.

Alongside the data, Cities Outlook 2019 provides timely analysis of the impact a decade of austerity has had on cities, and how different cities have been able to adapt to deliver  core services. As we look ahead to the Spending Review, Cities Outlook 2019 will offer government key recommendations after austerity, focusing on supporting urban economic growth, for the benefit of the wider national economy.

The event heard from a fantastic panel, including:

  • Cllr Abi Brown, Deputy Leader, Stoke-on-Trent
  • Cllr Nick Forbes, Leader, Newcastle City Council
  • Professor Tony Travers, Director, LSE London
