Cities Outlook 2016 Launch

Our authoritative index of the performance of the UK largest cities launches in London at the end of January.

Event starts at 12.30pm on 25 January 2016 at City Hall, London

Now in its ninth year, Cities Outlook is the authoritative economic index of Britain’s largest cities and towns.

This year, the report will look at the geography of wages and welfare across the UK. It will set out why, if the Chancellor wishes to achieve his ambition of a ‘high wage, low welfare’ country, he has to look to cities. Cities contribute disproportionately to economic growth at the same time as containing some of the highest levels of demand for public service; they are the places which will be critical to driving economic growth and delivering more efficient, effective state in the future.

We’ll be joined by:

  • James Wharton MP, Minister for the Northern Powerhouse
  • Gavin Kelly, Chief Executive of the Resolution Trust
  • Dawn Baxendale, Chief Executive of Southampton City Council
