Our roundtable at the Conservative Party Conference will look at how policy can support city SMEs after 2015.
Small and medium sized businesses have an essential role to play in driving national growth and economic recovery. They make up 99 per cent of all businesses across the UK’s biggest towns and cities so their contribution to the economy is vital. In the final Party Conference season before the election, this roundtable is an opportunity for national and local government to hear directly from small and medium sized businesses across UK cities about the policies and tools that would help sustain their growth and the UK’s growth over the next five years and beyond.
We’ll be discussing what the government needs to understand about individual places and their strengths, whether within a city like London or understanding clusters across the UK. We’ll also talk about what national and local government can do to help ensure a supply of a highly skilled local workforce, better access to finance or appropriate infrastructure.
