Explore the data and compare the performance of over 300 European and UK cities on population, employment, business stock and more

Data dashboard last updated on 15 Jan 2019

As part of Competing with the Continent, a report which looks at how UK cities compare to cities across Europe, this interactive data tool offers a full city-by-city comparison of the 330 European and UK cities analysed.

In the tool you can find city by city factsheets whereby UK cities are compared to the five most similar cities in terms of their size and industrial structure. This means you can explore how relatively similar cities compare in terms of productivity, numbers of businesses, employment rates and more.

Explore the data by UK city

This option generates a factsheet of all the available data for one UK city and the five most similar cities based on population size and industrial structure. From here you can explore the rest of the tool to create charts and tables based on the city selection.
