Sophie joined the Centre for Cities in April 2014, and led on the organisation’s press and media relations. She is now Head of Communications at Demos.

Most recently prior to joining the Centre, Sophie worked in Australia as a speechwriter and communications adviser in the Department of Premier and Cabinet, including on economic, multicultural and international policy. She has also worked in press and communications roles in financial services and technology organisations in both the UK and Australia, and has provided strategic consulting to a range of not-for-profit organisations.

Sophie holds a First Class Honours Master’s degree in Global Media Communications (Political Communication) from the University of Melbourne, and has also conducted political studies and comparative research at the London School of Economics.
