Marc is Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of PineBridge Benson Elliot, the real estate fund management arm of global asset manager PineBridge Investments. Marc co-founded Benson Elliot, having previously established and managed the private equity real estate platform at Doughty Hanson & Co. In the early 1990s Marc established (and for five years led) the Property & Tourism team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Marc began his European career at Goldman Sachs.
Marc is a Senior Departmental Fellow in the Land Economy faculty at the University of Cambridge, where he teaches Real Estate Development in the MPhil programme. He is a Global Governing Trustee (and past UK Chairman) of the Urban Land Institute, an Eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a member of the BPF/DLUHC Commercial Property Forum. From 2016 to 2023 Marc served as Chairman of the Bank of England Commercial Property Forum. During 2021 Marc served on the Expert Advisory Group for the Independent Review into the Valuation of Property Assets, commissioned by the RICS Standards and Regulation Board.
Marc holds a BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) and an MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg).
