Claire worked at Centre for Cities as Deputy Chief Executive and Director of External Affairs from July 2007 to April 2012.

Prior to joining the Centre for Cities in July 2007, Claire was Media Director at the Equal Opportunities Commission, where she helped to raise the profile of gender inequality as a political issue. Between 2002 and 2005 she worked at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office as a communications manager and speechwriter to the Minister for Europe, and while at the FCO co-ordinated the UK’s celebrations of EU enlargement.  She has also worked in the private sector, as UK corporate PR manager for IBM, and as a public relations consultant to several IT companies.

Claire has a BA (Hons) in English from Cambridge University (1997) and is a Fellow of the RSA.
