About this role

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual with an aptitude for online communications to help us deliver our ambitious digital strategy. You will work with the Digital and Audience Manager to keep us at the top of our online game by creating and posting content, helping to manage our social media and grow our network of followers and newsletter subscribers.

You are a self-starter with at least a year’s relevant experience in this area of communications. You will be part of a small, busy External Affairs team. We are looking for someone bursting with ideas and enthusiasm with the ability to get the job done and who is happy to get involved in all the Centre’s activities, multi-task and make the most of all the opportunities we have to offer.

We are currently working from home but will return to our office close to London Bridge as soon as that is practical and the right decision for our team.

Matching pension scheme: up to 10 per cent

Annual leave: 28 days plus eight bank holidays, leave allowance rising to 30 days after four years’ service

Job Duties

  • Work with and support the Digital and Audience Manager in the day-to-day creation of online and social media content, data visualisation, newsletters and publications
  • Work with and support the Digital and Audience Manager in the day-to-day implementation of the digital strategy, including search engine optimisation, growing social media audiences and web analytics
  • Work with the rest of the External Affairs team and other Centre staff on communications tasks as required

Person specification

Essential:

  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • At least a year’s relevant experience (paid or unpaid)
  • Proven flair and aptitude for online and visual communication
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel within the UK

Desirable:

  • Interest in the importance of cities and large towns as drivers of economic prosperity – issues such as jobs and unemployment, skills and education, housing, transport and climate change
  • Use of Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
