About Centre for Cities

Centre for Cities is passionate about helping cities up and down the country achieve their economic potential and improve the life chances of their residents. Whether it is employment, skills, housing or transport, we work closely with city leaders, government and business leaders to make sure our work is relevant, accessible and of practical use to cities.

We conduct authoritative analytical research on urban economies in the UK and produce practical policy solutions that help shape the debate on a wide range of urban economic issues such as the ‘levelling-up’ agenda, how the recession and recovery is playing out across the country and the future of metro mayors. We also regularly convene experts, policy-makers and practitioners from a diverse range of backgrounds – cities, academia, employers, Whitehall and politicians from across the political spectrum – to discuss the findings of our work and to ensure our work is of practical use to cities and the policy community.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK’s leading organisations dedicated to cities and urban policy. We are looking for a new member of the research team who has got the skills to define and deliver research projects and has a curiosity and aptitude for data analysis.

The candidate will be expected to have at least two years of work experience. Where this is not the case but the application is strong, we will be willing to offer the position of Researcher instead.

  • Applied experience of using statistical packages, e.g.  R, STATA, ArcGIS, to undertake quantitative analysis.
