Stephen Ashworth

It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the unexpected death of our Board member Stephen Ashworth. Stephen had been a member of the board for 14 years joining soon after the Centre was established.

Reflecting on Stephen’s enormous contribution to the Centre’s development, Nigel Hugill, the Centre’s chairman, says: “I have known Stephen in different guises for three decades, as friend, counsel and for the last 12 years as Board member of Centre for Cities. He was forever pushing in the furtherance of balanced and inclusive growth. Wonderfully principled, highly convicted and unstinting in his efforts and contribution to the Centre, Stephen was one of the good guys. Our most profound condolences go to Stephen’s family at this terribly sad time.”
