This report looks at the geography of jobs within Brighton, and is part of Centre for Cities’ wider research looking at the patterns of economic development seen across cities in Britain.

Brighton is atypical of Britain’s smaller sized cities in that its city centre has played an increasingly important role within its wider city economy, particularly in creating private sector jobs. As the UK is likely to continue to specialise in the sorts of activities that prefer city centre locations, this bodes well for Brighton’s future.
