Centre for Cities welcomes the creation of a core cities cabinet

Centre for Cities’ research has long advocated the need for UK cities to take a leadership role in economic growth, backed by greater freedoms to drive growth and development in their areas. The formation of a new Core Cities Cabinet provides a real opportunity for the biggest economic areas outside of the South East of England to step up their engagement with one another and with Government, in order to ensure they can make the most of their potential to drive the growth of the UK economy in the years ahead.”
