Urban grit or suburban comfort: where do people prefer to live?

We'll be launching the final part of our urban demographics series in London.

Event starts at 11.00am on 3 November 2015 at Lecture Hall, 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, London

Join Centre for Cities to launch the final part of major new research, supported by DAC Beachcroft, looking at urban demographics across the UK. The work draws on national and city-specific polls to understand why people decide to live where they do and the impact that this has on urban planning and development.

Attendees will hear from experts on what the implications of the poll findings are for the development of cities and suburbs. In particular, we will discuss how this affects city planning decisions, regeneration projects, the development of urban transport systems and the prioritisation of investment in different cities with distinctive characteristics.

The event will be chaired by Alexandra Jones, Chief Executive, Centre for Cities and the expert panel includes:

Bridget Rosewell Economist and author of ‘Reinventing London’
Melanie Leech Chief Executive, British Property Federation
Sir Alan Wilson Professor of Urban and Regional Systems, Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis, UCL

This event is now fully subscribed, please get in touch to be added to the waiting list

Note that as part of the launch of this report, DAC Beachcroft be hosting another event in Manchester in early 2016. Details for that event will be available soon.
