Can city mayors save our city economies and reignite interest in local politics? Are there lessons to be learned from other European cities on emerging from recession? Can we protect our jobs and workers without being ‘protectionist'? We've had talk of green jobs, electric cars and ecotowns - but is the political climate ready to change?

Ahead of the local and European elections polling day on ‘Super Thursday' June 4th, we've brought together a cross-party panel to answer your questions on the most pressing issues affecting UK cities today - from youth unemployment and the housing slump to investment in public transport and future voter engagement.

Dermot Finch, Centre for Cities will chair the debate.
