Monday 31st March 2008, Stratford Circus,
Theatre Square Stratford, London, E15 1BX

"This Thames Gateway London Partnership seminar explored with the new Homes and Communities Agency its forthcoming and major role in Thames Gateway and in the other growth areas.  The Agency has the key task of promoting housing output to meet very ambitious Government targets.  It will coordinate development on public sector land and will set development standards.

Much current housing output in the Gateway is limited in typology, with too many smaller flats.  The Boroughs are determined to ensure that both new and existing communities benefit from regeneration, and that local amenities and facilities fully match housing development.  What should be the Agency's role in promoting mixed communities with a good range of market and affordable homes, especially for families?  How should it engage with Boroughs and other key stakeholders?

There are many agencies and local devilivery partnerships all working in the Gateway to promote renegeration and development.  How should the Agency work with these to ensure rounded, cohesive development?"
