Following a successful start-up phase within the institute for public policy research (ippr), the Centre for Cities is now fully independent and has moved to new offices on London's South Bank.

The Centre will shortly begin its new research programme, investigating the economic drivers of urban regeneration. We will be looking at how successful cities can sustain their growth, and how cities which have done less well can fulfil their potential. We'll be working with cities, central government and businesses on practical advice and recommendations to support positive urban growth and change.
