At this event on the role of place in innovation, Dr Glenn Athey will present on the recently completed Centre for Cities report on "Innovation and the city: how innovation has developed in five city-regions." This report, sponsored by NESTA, reveals that UK innovation is largely concentrated in and around cities, and sheds light on how innovative activities helps cities to regenerate and thrive. The report presents an informed analysis supported by five case studies of Reading and the Thames Valley (IT), London (fashion), Coventry (automotive engineering), Dundee (life sciences) and Dortmund (life sciences).
