The Future of City Centre Living in Birmingham
Date: 10/07/2006
End Date: 30/11/2000
This event, hosted in conjunction with Birmingham Future, brought together Clive Dutton, Director of Planning and Regeneration at Birmingham City Council, and Max Nathan, Senior Research at the Centre for Cities, to discuss how should Birmingham shape its city centre and city centre living over the next decade. The following issues were discussed:
- What kind of communities are we creating in the heart of the city? How can we attract more families and older residents?
- How is city centre living contributing to the regeneration of Birmingham, to the city’s image and wider economic performance?
- What are the next steps, and how can we learn from the city centre experience to plan the recovery of ‘inner ring’ neighbourhoods?
